With a plate rack above, English and Welsh antique dressers separate into two parts. Generally, they start at around 4ft wide, the majority being 5ft – 6ft. They comprise of drawers above doors and sometimes have a central open alcove known as a dog kennel.
Pedestal desks generally separate into three parts - the top and the two supporting pedestals. For comfortable seating, the vertical knee room needs to be 24".
